Wedding Destination in Destin Sneak Peek

Bobby and I had a wonderful time this past weekend capturing the love and beauty between Kristeena and Todd in Destin. These lovebirds drove all the way from St. Louis, MO to exchange their vows on the beautiful white sands of Florida's gulf coast beach :) It's going to be a crazy editing week for me this week, and please check back for Kristeena & Todd's slideshow as well as for Kellie & Randy's wedding celebration in Redondo Beach, CA slideshow. GNO @ GON = "Girls Night Out @ Grand Opening Night"...cheesy, I know :) Bobby and I just got back about an hour ago from checking out Stacy and Jamie's Photography Studio Grand Opening Night party :) Hot photographers like Christina, Susan, Star, Kara, Erin and my Bobby (who's the only husband from the gang that went out there tonight!) got together to help celebrate Stacy and Jaime with their new adventure :) I got to meet new other cool photogs in town, and thanks for the business cards :)

I'm sooo sleepy, but before I hit the sack, enjoy the pictures from tonight's event :) I'm leaving in 5 hours for Destin for a wedding destination photo shoot, and I'll get back with you guys on Monday :) Stay tuned for Kristeena & Todd's hot wedding in Destin :)

Workout Songs

What gets me going on the elliptical machine is listening to awesome songs in my iPod. I get all pumped up listening to Dance/Techno remixes and even to Hillsong, Hilary Duff (don't smirk!), The Cure and U2. I looove Zumba and the African Salsa music--I just wish I can dance gracefully because I look pretty challenged when I'm trying to do the Merengue work out. ;-)

One song that really puts me into a trance is "Heaven" by DJ Sammy & Yanou. When it's time to cool down, I like listening to Coldplay, Sarah Brightman, Buddha Bar music and any classical music. Have you guys heard of Vitamin String Quartet? They are simply AMAZING!!

I have been listening to the same playlist since this Spring ;-) I think I need to update my playlist. Does anyone have any suggestions on great workout songs?? Thanks :)

Bringin' Sexy Back

Wow--it has almost been a year since my first blog post ever (10/5/07)! My dear friend Scarlett was actually the one that kept telling me to start a blog, and I was always hesitant about it because I don't want the whole world (someone from Poland, China and Brazil keeps checking my blog) to know everything about me. True, I don't have to share about everything, but it sure is a great way to keep everyone posted with my latest photo sessions and to witness my faith :) I started the blog only to post strictly photo work related, but a couple of weeks into blogging, I was inspired to use this as my personal journal as well--in photos, of course :) Yay, for blogging! Thank you to all for always checking my blog, and please leave me a comment sometimes so I know who's visiting--especially the folks in Poland, China and Brazil :)

Looking back to my oldest posts, I noticed that my old slideshows were still with Slide.com. I figured I'll recreate the slideshow using David Jay's slideshow tool. I'm bringing "sexy" back with Scarlett's Glam Session. Enjoy!

Sneak Peek from Kellie & Randy's Wedding Celebration

I usually try to use pictures that you can't see people's faces for my "Sneak Peeks," but this picture below is so fun that I just have to use it. Besides, you can't see Randy's face ;-) Stay tuned for the upcoming slideshow!

Weekend Update

I had an eventful time this past several days...first, Bobby and I shaved our Labradoodle and my Facebook status comment caused a stir ;-) Nope, I didn't sell my dog's hair to the black market ;-) Second, my friend Anna and I checked out the 2008 Women of Influence annual event downtown last Friday morning and got to network with various business women (and men) in Jacksonville. We sat at the same table with the ladies from American Heart Association and Shands Jacksonville and one gentleman from Florida Small Business Development Center. It was a great way to promote my photography business there since many women that Anna and I talked to were event specialists and in the marketing field as well--and always looking for photographers :)

Later on that Friday, I left for Los Angeles to capture Kellie and Randy's Wedding Celebration this past weekend :) Most of you will remember Kellie from the 08.08.08 wedding post in my blog. :) The celebration took place in Redondo Beach and the weather was just perfect :)

I got back late Sunday afternoon just in time to see the Jacksonville Jaguars win a victory against the Colts--my heart was in my throat most of the time during that game! It was very intense! I also got to watch the Yankees play their last regular season game against the Orioles at the House that Ruth built. It was very emotional to watch that game, and I'm so happy that they won that night. I still get teary-eyed just thinking about that stadium getting bulldozed. I had lots of fun memories there with my mom when I used to live in New York City.

2nd Place Is Not So Bad

As many of you know already, I am in Toastmasters and as much as I hate public speaking, I really love this club!! We had our Evaluation Speech contest today, and I was one of the four contestants to evaluate Wayne's speech. I gave my best shot, although, I rushed my conclusion part because I was running out of time. I thought I was a goner then, but apparently, my speech was good enough to win 2nd place :) Our Membership of Education officer, Sandra, won first place, and she did a phenomenal job with her speech! We both get to compete at the area level, which will be on Oct. 3rd. I also got to see a friend of ours, Rob, win the Humorous Speech contest in his area level two weekends ago. Yay for Toastmasters! From the area level, the winner will move forward to the Division contest which will be on the weekend that I will be in NYC for an engagement session. Hey--now the pressure is off!

Maddy's Sweet Senior Shots

Faced with pre-college testings, college applications and scholarships, Maddy was ready to take a break last weekend by trashing her prom dress at the beach. We did some fun senior shots first before she soaked the delicate satin hot pink dress in the crashing waves. She braved the crawly insects and spiders in the woods and the blazing heat. Underneath that beautiful smile is a strong girl, and I know that Maddy has a bright future ahead of her. Congratulations, Maddy, and to the Class of 2009 at Bishop Kenny!

Of course, I can't end my blog without thanking my wonderful friend Anna for helping me out carrying around my camera gear. Bobby had other obligations on that day, and it actually worked out that Anna went with me instead because she's Maddy's sister ;-)

My Favorite Things

When things just get crazy with work, flowers from my husband, friends coming over and playing Scrabble just delight my heart when I'm feeling down :)

I'm in the mood to watch The Sound of Music movie now, but I think I'm going to the gym and get ready for my photo session this afternoon. I will leave you with the lyrics to the song instead ;-)

Taking a Good Break

Sometimes in life, we just need to slow down and take a moment to enjoy the beauty around us :) I feel like my life is in always in constant motion and full speed ahead--don't get me wrong, I like being busy and always having something to do. Today, I just did the opposite...woke up, helped my husband get ready for work, met up with a girlfriend of mine and her daughter for coffee, and just catch up on life. I always say I don't want children, but they sure know how to tickle my heart :) They're so full of life and innocence. Enjoy the pictures below :) Of course, I brought my own girl for coffee as well ;-)

**On a side note, please take time to reflect and pray for all the family members and friends that were impacted by Sept. 11th tragedy 7 years ago. It is a bit eerie how that Thursday morning changed our lives and nation in an instant moment. I will never forget...and thank you to all of our heroes who worked so hard on that day and still to this present time!

Patti & Jeremy are Engaged!!

Hurricane Hanna and Gustav actually did something good for a change...it gave us rough surf at Cocoa Beach and made some great background shots for Patti and Jeremy's engagement session. We were bummed out that it was overcast most of the time during the session, and the sun flirted with us by peeking in and out for a nano second at a time...but with a great looking couple like Patti and Jeremy...any day is perfect!

Bobby and I not only had a blast photo-shooting the session, we also enjoyed hanging out with Patti, Jeremy and her family. It is a tradition for Patti's family to get together every year on Labor Day weekend at Cocoa Beach. We were welcomed with open arms and heart-warming friendliness. Thanks for brewing us coffee super early in the morning!

Patti and Jeremy, you both made this session sooo much fun for us, and we cannot wait to cover your wedding in Orlando! Congratulations and see you again in 6 months :-D
