Breaking the 2-Weeks-of-No-Blogging Curse!

Wowie! It's been almost two weeks since I posted something in my blog! I'm alive and well...just busy with weddings and editing! Before midnight, I'm going to post one sneak peek of what's to come in my blog besides the two awesome weddings we had this past weekend ;) More eye candy on its way :)

Fun Times with the Shaving Cream

Up here in the Smokies area, we have cabin mates, Jackie and John. Their two adorable children are just too darn cute and always playful :) Just the other day, Jackie let them release their inner creativity with shaving cream and write their names with it on the table. It looked so much fun that I had to grab my camera from the room and take pictures of them. By the time I got back outside, writing their names were no longer an activity but rather just making a big white foamy (and scented) beautiful mess :) I love it!

Trip to Grandfather Mountain, NC

Have you seen the movie Forest Gump, and if so, do you remember the part where he ran across America? One of his running scenes included the way up to Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina :)

Bobby and I had the chance to hike up there this past weekend. Breathtaking view, I tell you! As much as I am afraid of heights and swinging bridges, it was worth it to go up at the highest peak and see God's masterpiece! It was like heaven on earth :) We strongly recommend that ya'll visit the Grandfather Mountain when you are in North Carolina :)

At the very end of the blog post, check out the Forest Gump scene where he ran up on a road towards Grandfather Mountain. You can fast forward to 2:50 minutes of the clip to see that particular scene (and be sure to have the jukebox at the bottom of my blog turned off). By the way, the state park did name that curve the "Forest Gump Curve." :)

Pictage User Group (PUG)

It's always fun to network with other photographers, and back in July when I was up in Asheville, NC, I had the chance to attend the Asheville PUG (Pictage User Group) and meet a lot of COOL photographers like Regina Holder, Corey McNabb, Jarrad Lister, and Craig & Lindsey Mahaffey of Sposa Bella Photo.

We have the Jacksonville PUG as well, and it's so fun to get together once a month and either have a business forum or go out on a night shoot :) Earlier this year, the Jacksonville PUG got the chance to get together for a fun night shoot in San Marco area and that was so much fun!

I'm looking forward to going on a road trip with several photogs to New Orleans in November for the Pictage Partner Conference 2009 :) Awesome photogs like Mike Colon, Joe Buissink, Carlos Baez, and the oh-so wonderful Kevin Kubota will be there as well :)

By the way, Pictage is also my third vendor that handles all of my clients' print orders and albums :) It's $99 a month for the membership fee, but I think it's worth it that I don't have to worry about print and album order transactions for every wedding. :)

Here's a couple of pictures from the Asheville PUG:

And here's a couple of pictures from the Jacksonville PUG night shoot earlier this year (I really need a current one!):

Anna and Rob's First Newborn Session - Jacksonville FL Family and Baby Photographer

One of our best friends just had their first baby ever last month, and I'm so honored to be Baby H's own paparazzi for the next 11 months (perhaps, even more!). Anna & Rob want pictures of Baby H every 3 months up to her 1-year birthday :) I'll put a slideshow together by then, and I can't wait!! She is so darn precious, and we all can't get enough of her!

The first four pictures are from the hospital when Baby H was just born. The rest are from her first ever photo session :) Yay!!

Remembering 9/11

I can still remember that one horrid morning when I first heard of the attack... I was working in the computer area at my college library when one student shouted out that the World Trade Center has been hit by a plane. Remembering his voice of concern and shock still gives me goosebumps to this day :( My mom also worked at the library and she and her co-workers all changed the TV channels to CNN. I just remembered being dizzy, and I really thought the second coming of Jesus Christ is coming then (don't judge!) ;-)

Today, I want to take a moment of silence to remember all the innocent lives that were lost on that day, NYPD, NYFD, and all the brave souls that all came together to help each other out on that day. My heart goes out to the pets also that waited and waited for their masters to come home but never came :(

God bless, America and our Armed Forces (active and vets) that protect and fight for our freedom daily!!

Below are a several shots of the Ground Zero that Bobby and I took from our trip to NYC last month. We enjoyed a 3-day mini vacation after photo-shooting Angelique & Gerry's beautiful wedding in NYC :)

Jennifer & Bart's Trash the Dress Session in St. Augustine, FL

Earlier this year, a few of photographers and I went downtown and experimented with night shooting (which I really still need to blog soon!). I am in love with night shooting because there's so much more that I need to learn about it :) One of our wonderful May brides and grooms, Jennifer and Bart, always wanted to trash her wedding dress before storing it away for good. Gotta love it when Jennifer told me that she's my "open canvas" and that she's cool with any ideas. Of course, I brought up night shooting and she was excited to go along with it :)

Thank you, Jennifer and Bart! I had so much fun photo-shooting the night session with you guys. I can't believe we ended at 11:00 PM!! Ya'll are super-troopers!! Congratulations again, newlyweds :)

XOXO
