Linda & Patrick are Married at TPC Sawgrass! - Jacksonville FL Wedding Photographer

Yellow is such an awesome color, and I love how most of our brides incorporate that hue in their weddings! I simply adore the colors that Linda and Patrick picked out for their late summer wedding, which were yellow, navy blue, and white. Their centerpieces from Wilsons Limited were also gorgeous! Bobby and I had so much fun at this wedding, and we totally fitted right at home! Haha, literally even if there was no family relationship involved ;) Our last name happens to be the same as the bride's maiden name, and it was fun to see "Hoffman" mentioned everywhere at this wedding.

Linda's sister/maid-of-honor, Christine Hoffman, is the catering sales manager at TPC Sawgrass, and it is always a pleasure working with her. I'm so happy that we got to work with Chris again and this time with the rest of the Hoffman clan ;) Linda was all smiles that night, and we can just tell how much in love she and Patrick are with each other :) Very honored to be a part of this joyous occasion, and congratulations to the love birds!!

XOXO

LINDA & PATRICK'S LOVE STORY:

How did you guys meet?

He had his eye on her in 10th grade history class, but after graduation, they both went in very different directions. After a reunion with a mutual friend, Paddy was reintroduced to Linda last summer and it was an instant connection. Even though we went to high school together, we never really knew each other. Before we even met, we both knew that this person was going to be different. It was magic from the first moments we saw each other. Ten months long distance, a dozen or so cross country flights and hours on the phone every night. It wasn't ideal, but it worked.

Describe the proposal:

The story started weeks before the actual event. Once Pat decided he wanted to pop the question, he knew he had to do it right. After asking my dad for my hand, he arranged a dinner with both families and formally announced to them his intentions. Somehow he managed to keep this all secret from me, which is amazing knowing my family.

He bought a ring, which everyone at home got to see, still without me knowing. He decided to ask me while he was in California for my graduation from Naval Postgraduate School. Due to a delayed flight, his plan to ask me the day before did not work out. Following the graduation ceremony, we took a walk to Lover's Point (how appropriate, right) down by the bay. The story was that we were going to take a walk before we met Dad for dinner. We were looking out at the bay and he started saying stuff that I do not remember now because once I saw him pull the box out of his pocket my mind went blank. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I think my actual response was "Well, duh!" or maybe "Hell yeah". Not sure. The best part was that he told me to turn around and when I did, out popped Dad from, behind a tree with his camera. He had been able to watch the whole thing AND get pictures!

Meet Carla - New Orleans Portrait Photographer

I met Carla last November in New Orleans when she modeled for Jules Bianchi's shooting workshop as a part of the Pictage's Partner Conference :) It has been almost a year since I took these pictures..but hey, better late than never ;) I never got around on getting the photo release from the other models except from Carla and these two other awesome guys in the pictures. Carla recently emailed me if she could have the images sent to her directly, and I figured why not post the pictures in the blog too :) She's an amazing model, and a very sweet person also once you get to know her well :) I love her beautiful looks, and as Tyra Banks would say in America's Next Top Model..."racially ambiguous" models rock! :) I wish her the very best in her modeling career!

XOXO

Halee & Michael are Married!! - Jacksonville & Hilliard FL Wedding Photographer

I am convinced that God let things happen for a reason, so we are graced with special people in our lives. I was originally scheduled for another wedding on August 28th, but due to unforseen circumstances, that didn't happen and instead I met Halee and Michael. What a joy and blessing to have them as one of our couples. Halee is such a sweet and thoughtful bride (for real--she knew my mom was flying in from Mexico days before her wedding and invited her to come so that she wasn't stuck home alone while Bobby and I were photo-shooting). Michael is always happy no matter what's going on, and I truly believe they're perfect for each other! Be sure to check out their Love Story below :)

Congratulations, Halee & Michael! Thank you for having us as your wedding photographers! You two are one beautiful couple inside and out! Gotta give props to my dear friend, Lyndsay of Pink Coffee Photoart for referring you guys to me :) I'm truly blessed to know you both...and your lovely parents!! ;)

XOXO

HALEE & MICHAEL’S LOVE STORY:

- How did you guys meet?

I've attended Hilliard First since I was born. Michael came about two years ago, with his parents. We played on a church co-ed softball team together. I played 2nd, he pitched. (My number was 22, Michael's 33, I just thought that's a cute side note!) So we kinda just met at church. Michael attended First Baptist downtown until his family joined our church. They had visited other churches, but of course, God has bigger reasons for his family coming to Hilliard than they thought! =)

- Describe the proposal:

Ahh, Christmas Morning... Deep down in my heart I knew that it was coming sometime before the end of the year, but I had talked myself out of believing it would be Christmas. "Little" known fact about me, I go crazy at Christmas, hands down my favorite day of the year. Well, I woke up extremely early, drove to Jacksonville to Michael’s parents to open presents. (Got a failure to yield ticket/warning on the way there…bummer!!) Anyway, they have a tradition, that once presents are distributed, you have to take turns, one by one, have everyone watch you, and open a gift. I grab this gift bag, and peeked inside, pulled out my second favorite thing…bedroom slippers!! I thought that was all that was in the bag, and as Michael says, I "threw the bag on the ground".... He told me to look again, and I found this cute little silver box taped to the bottom.. Still believing it would be earrings or a necklace, I opened the box and to my surprise, I found a ring, he slid off the couch, took my hand, asked me if I'd marry him, and I replied, "Of Course!” Everyone cried! It's my perfect proposal!! Nothing super over the top…and on Christmas!!!!

- What is your favorite thing to do on your date night?

Go to dinner, and return to the couch to cuddle up and watch our favorite show or a movie... Or an outgoing with the family, both sets of parents, brother and sisters, and of course, the twins!!

- What is your wedding invitation like and where did you go to get it done?

We bought our invitations from Office Depot, They were white with silver swirls on the side. Then did the formatting to exactly what we wanted, and printed all the invitations and RSVPs myself... hand fed, a TON of them! But we ended up saving .40 cents an invitation. =)

- What are your wedding colors and why did you guys choose that color palette?

I've dreaded of my wedding since I was young, and changed my colors 100 times. Then threw it all out the window and started from scratch when Michael proposed. We chose Watermelon Pink and Colbalt Blue. It's girly, but a sense of "boy" also! I saw the color swatches laid out on "The Knot" and fell in love. It was perfect!

- Describe your wedding cake:

A simple yet unique three layered vanilla cake with fondant icing! YUM!

- Describe your wedding flowers:

My mother and I used to work as florist a couple of years ago. Her best friend (aka Pat Pat) and Patti's mother (aka Aunt Net) also do flowers. So we met and sat down and picked out the flowers together. THEY WERE BREATH TAKING! We chose 24" flower towers in colbalt and all my favorite pink and white flowers. Terri from Callahan Flowers and More really helped us out when we first started, and she came through again but letting us invade her shop and arranging. I couldn't have imagined the flowers any prettier!!

- Where did you go for your honeymoon?

5-day cruise to Key West and Nassau, it was awesome!

- What are you looking forward to in the future together?

We're looking forward to God's will for our lives. Our prayer is our marriage will glorify him. We're praying for a family together and serving together in ministry at our church.
