You may remember Maggie from her Maternity Session with me a couple of months ago at the Jacksonville Beach Pier! Her baby girl just arrived, and I'm super excited to photograph her newborn session. I tried out something new for this photo-shoot. We had the session done at my own home instead of going to the client's home. I also used nothing but natural lighting for all of the photos. No flash and no fuss with cords! Thanks to Maggie for driving all the way to my home with her mom, and kudos to my assistant Nellie for helping and keeping my dog away from me during the photo-shoot! Our dog did get very jealous that I paid more attention to Maggie's baby girl ;) I am not planning to open up a studio at my home anytime, but it sure does beat lugging all the heavy equipment and props to client's home for the shoot. The only thing I miss, though, is taking photos of the baby's nursery ;)
Always a pleasure photographing my eye doctor's beautiful family! Grateful that I get to photograph Ms. Megha and Dr. Choksi's children again along with Ms. Megha's sister Kajal's adorable little ones! Kajal and her husband, Sid, are vacationing in Florida right now, and I am so happy that they connected with me for a family portrait session before they leave back for their home in London. I also got to meet their twin boys for the first time, and they are so cute!!
Their twins just turned 1-year-old, and it was pretty cool that I got to witness and photograph their traditional first haircut ceremony, also known as choula. I "googled" more about this tradition, and the first haircut ceremony signifies freedom from the past and moving into the future. It was educational and fun at the same time for me! Overall, it was a great time, and I am thankful for these two families! I truly enjoyed taking everyone's photos :)
